Summer Camp Program

Toddler's Summer Camp Fun & Learning

Hello Parents,

The first weeks of Summer Camp have begun. We were busy having fun and getting to know each other. By now, every child is very comfortable in the classroom and each camper follows our classroom's daily "rhythm" effortlessly. We begin each day with self-directed, independent work time, Children are encouraged to choose their activity (Table Work is done at a table, Rug Work is to done on designated rugs) and are shown how to conduct a Cycle of Activity. In the Montessori context a Cycle of Activity consists of:

  1. Choosing their work
  2. Bringing it to a rug or table
  3. Completing their work
  4. Returning it back to the shelf.

By the end of week one, our campers understood and followed this process very well. Following the work time, every day before we go to recess, we have a snack and then gather in a circle for some much needed Community Time. During this time we play games, sing songs, learn short poems, read books, or watch a teacher present a new activity. Here are some pictures from our classroom life so far.

We sincerely thank you for giving us the opportunity to work together with your children.

Ms. Monika and the Summer Camp staff.
